Mack Alive was founded by former Detroit City Council Member, State Representative, Wayne County Commissioner and community advocate, Honorable Alberta Tinsley-Talabi, whose commitment and passion is to support the neighborhood where she was born and still resides. In 1991, she rallied neighbors, pastors, businesses and government officials to declare, 'Mack Is Alive'. Today, Mack Alive is celebrating 34 years as a 501 (c)(3), non-profit community resource center dedicated to the upward mobility of residents in the City of Detroit, with a particular focus on residents in the Southeastern Village. We offer a safe environment and serve as a positive change agent for growth.
Mack Alive's vision is to maintain a clean, safe, educated and inclusive Detroit. We never ignore the damage that the lack of education, poverty, unemployment, lack of affordable housing, crime, alcohol and other illegal drugs has had on the decline of this once thriving community. We are and will remain a beacon of light to our great city.
Mack Alive has been spreading the love by uplifting the residents of the Southeastern Village and the eastside neighborhood. Our mission is to build comprehensive programs which are designed to educate, empower and elevate the entire community while rebuilding a better city.
Donate to Mack Alive to enable us to continue providing free programs and services to the public, but also to improve conditions for the residents of our city and communities.
